Tiburon CEO Summit speakers are selected through attendee nominations and votes. Tiburon membership is not a consideration.
Tiburon CEO Summit Speaker Policy
Tiburon CEO Summit attendees are offered the opportunity to suggest speakers on both the Tiburon CEO Summit registration and the Tiburon CEO Summit member action & feedback forms. All Tiburon CEO Summit speakers are eligible for consideration once every two years. Tiburon membership is not a consideration.
Tiburon CEO Summits more specifically have three session types, each with a speaker policy:
Session Type
Tiburon Fireside Chats
All Tiburon Fireside Chat participants are current or former Tiburon CEO Summit award recipients. Tiburon CEO Summit attendees are offered the opportunity to vote on Tiburon CEO Summit award recipients on the Tiburon CEO Summit member action & feedback form. Tiburon has tallied award votes back to the beginning of the Tiburon CEO Summit award in 2001 and the award is intended to recognize lifetime achievement, not short-term results. Tiburon Fireside chats are held with new award recipients as well as when prior award recipients participate in Tiburon CEO Summits.
Session Type
Tiburon Talks
The Tiburon Talks were designed to give leading observers of the wealth & investment management (& WealthTech) industry an opportunity to opine about the industry. All Tiburon Talk speakers are government officials, industry association CEOs, professors, journalists, and leading strategic consultants. The Tiburon Talks (akin to TED Talks) are 15-20 minutes presentations. Tiburon CEO Summit attendees are offered the opportunity to suggest Tiburon Talk speakers on the Tiburon CEO Summit member action & feedback form. No industry CEOs are given Tiburon Talk spots.

Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussions & Tiburon CEO Roundtable Discussions
Tiburon invites CEOs, presidents, chairmen, & vice chairmen (as well as managing partners & managing principals when these titles are used to recognize the most senior executive) as speakers for its General Session CEO Panel Discussions & CEO Roundtable Discussions. Co-founder alone is not an eligible title because it is used differently at various Tiburon members. Tiburon also invites venture capital firms, private equity firms, investment banking firms, law firms, & CPA firms partners for its Tiburon CEO Summit Roundtable discussions strategic opportunities session track.
- Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussions
- Tiburon targets CEOs from wealth management firms and nationwide fee-based financial advisors (RIAs) as the panelists for its Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussions because they have the most universal Tiburon member demand. Firm size matters too; wealth management firm CEOs must have gathered $300+ billion assets under management & administration and nationwide fee-based financial advisors (RIAs) CEOs must have gathered $100 billion assets under management & administration to be eligible as Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussions panelists.
- Tiburon prioritizes inviting the CEOs of businesses that include frontline client service employees (aka financial advisors) who serve clients, over the B2B firms, such as custodians and independent broker/dealers, that serve financial advisors, due to the former firms' broader offerings and scale.
- Tiburon periodically also hosts an investment management firms Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussion; investment management firm CEOs must have gathered $300+ billion assets under management to be eligible for such.
- Custodian firm and independent broker/dealer firm CEOs, WealthTech firm CEOs, venture capital & private equity firm partners, investment banking firm partners, law firm partners, & CPA firm partners are generally not targeted for the Tiburon General Session CEO Panel Discussions because attendees do not universally seek such speakers.
- All Tiburon panelists are primarily invited based on attendee nominations and votes on the Tiburon CEO Summit registration and Tiburon CEO Summit member action & feedback forms. Tiburon membership is not a consideration.
- Tiburon CEO Roundtable Discussions
- Tiburon targets innovative CEOs of wealth management firms, nationwide fee-based financial advisors (RIAs), investment management firms, custodian firms, independent broker/dealer firms, and WealthTech firms for its Tiburon CEO Summit Roundtable Discussions.
- Tiburon also invites venture capital firm, private equity firm, investment banking firm, law firm, & CPA firm partners for its Tiburon CEO Summit Roundtable Discussions strategic opportunities session track.
- All Tiburon panelists are primarily invited based on attendee nominations and votes on the Tiburon CEO Summit registration and Tiburon CEO Summit member action & feedback forms. Tiburon membership is not a consideration.
