The next CEO Summit will be April 18-19, 2007 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco, CA. Steve Lockshin (CEO, Lydian Wealth Management, Lydian Trust Company) will join John DesPrez (CEO, John Hancock Financial Services, Manulife Financial), Ed Haldeman (CEO, Putnam Investments, Marsh & McLennan), Jim Riepe (Retired Vice Chairman & Senior Advisor, T. Rowe Price Group), and Paul Schott Stevens (CEO, Investment Company Institute) as the five guest speakers along with Tiburon's Managing Principal Chip Roame. Tiburon CEO Summit Guest Speaker: Steve Lockshin (CEO, Lydian Wealth Management, Lydian Trust Company)
Steve Lockshin serves as CEO of Lydian Wealth Management, a unit of Lydian Trust Company. As the company's founder and visionary, Mr. Lockshin led the Lydian team in its early adoption of asset allocation strategies for the high net worth marketplace (early 1990s), its use of Monte Carlo simulation to better quantify the risk & reward parameters of alternative portfolios, and its entry into the equity risk management marketplace. These efforts allowed Lydian to become a market leader in objective consulting services for affluent families. Mr. Lockshin's focus remains on client service, with a particular emphasis on trust & estate tax strategies, concentrated wealth strategies, and overall family wealth planning. Prior to co-founding CMS (now Lydian Wealth Management) in 1994, Mr. Lockshin served as a partner at Meltzer & Associates, a nationally recognized provider of insurance, estate planning, & executive compensation services. From 1985 to 1988, Steve worked in various business units, including an extended period in the municipal bond department, at Legg Mason (now part of Smith Barney). Mr. Lockshin will address leading a successful family office, including Lydian's ultra-affluent target market, marketing strategies, and investment offerings. Mr. Lockshin will also address fee pressure, disclosures, back office inefficiencies, competition, and how to differentiate services, including the increasingly blurred lines between boutique & large firms. Mr. Lockshin will be introduced by Chip Roame (Managing Principal, Tiburon Strategic Advisors), who himself recently spoke at a Lydian conference. Tiburon CEO Summit Break-Out Sessions

Financial Advisors Technology Financial Advisors Mergers & Acquisitions Tiburon CEO Summit XII Break-Out Sessions Include:
Tiburon Research Reports Tiburon Strategic Advisors has created a series of twenty-six research reports to help educate its clients in a low-cost way on a wide variety of topics in the brokerage, investments, private banking, and wealth management markets. The majority of Tiburon's research reports are written for executives at financial institutions; a few reports are written specifically for financial advisors. Reports in the financial advisors series are more tactical, including topics such as product usage, business models, & best practices of fee-only financial advisors, and trends in succession planning, firm valuations, & the acquisition market for financial advisors. The financial institutions series contains macro-industry reports that cover topics such as the mutual funds industry, the hedge funds industry, the full-service brokerage industry, and the fee-only financial advisor industry. Fee-Only Financial Advisors Best Practices The fee-only financial advisor (RIA) market is an eclectic and highly fragmented market of 19,500 firms managing about $2 trillion. Information on this segment has been scarce and vendors continue to struggle with how to offer value-added services to this segment. What products & services do fee-only financial advisors use? What custodians and technology do they use? How do they market to their clients? What are their profit margins? This research provides an in-depth look at how independent fee-only financial advisors manage their businesses and identifies key opportunities for vendors looking to serve this market. The report is based on a 35-question survey of 298 advisors covering a wide variety of their business practices (furthermore, this survey is ongoing and can be found at www.FABestPractices.Com). The report is appropriate for both vendors and advisors themselves. Independent Rep Best Practices The independent broker/dealer market is booming; there are now over 100,000 series 7 registered reps who own their own businesses and utilize independent broker/dealers such as LPL, Raymond James, Royal Alliance, and FNIC. Information on this segment has been scarce and vendors continue to struggle with how to offer value-added services to this segment. What products & services do independent reps use? What broker/dealers and technology do they use? How do they market to their clients? What are their profit margins? This research provides an in-depth look at how independent reps manage their businesses and identifies key opportunities for vendors looking to serve this market. The report is based on a 35-question survey of 1,476 independent reps covering a wide variety of their business practices (furthermore, this survey is ongoing and can be found at www.IndependentRepBestPractices.Com). The report is appropriate for both vendors and independent reps themselves. Additional Tiburon CEO Summit XII Guest Speakers In addition to Steve Lockshin, other general session speakers at CEO Summit XII will include John DesPrez (CEO, John Hancock Financial Services, Manulife Financial), Ed Haldeman (CEO, Putnam Investments, Marsh & McLennan), Jim Riepe (Retired Vice Chairman & Senior Advisor, T.
